HEADS
The "Heads" are portraits of characters that appeared in dreams over a period of several years. No attempt has been made to interpret them, but as Jung wrote: "The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the psyche ... in dreams we put on the likeness of that more universal, truer, more eternal man dwelling in the darkness of primordial night." The "Head Series" I feel embodies Jung's observation. Left: HEAD #6, acrylic on canvas, 24X20".

AMERICAN INDIANS
A collection of pen and ink drawings of American Indians using as source material c.1900 photographs by artists such as Edward Curtis. The meditative and mesmerizing affect of drawing portraits of Native Americans for hours on end, allowed me to reflect on the impact of their culture on American society and its psyche.

STAND ALONE DRAWINGS
The immediacy and instinctual nature of drawing manifests an intimate view of the artist's true spirit. Drawings including this group, although not part of a series, are an important aspect of my work.
